Pentominoes
We will be using pentominoes to serve as the shapes of our miniature golf holes! Can you create a complete 12 piece pentomino puzzle? Try it by clicking on the picture at the left. Also, if you need a great book recommendation, be sure to check out Chasing Vermeer by Blue Balliet! This is an excellent book
Constructing a Perpendicular Bisector
|
In class, we learned how to bisect a line in order to find the point at which the golf ball should ricochet off of the bumper. In class, our "tee" and "cup" line was parallel to the bumper. So, by bisecting the line, we could find where we would need to aim (by connecting the intersection points of the circle arcs to the bumper itself). Watch the video to the left to review how we found the perpendicular bisector.
